Matt Besser is an American comedian, podcaster and actor. He is best known as a founder of the Upright Citizens Brigade, which started out as a Chicago sketch and improv comedy group in 1991, earning a cult following from the start.

Original members included Ian Roberts, Ali Farahnakian, Adam McKay, Rick Roman, and Horatio Sanz. In 1996, the UCB relocated to New York City. In NYC, they made three seasons of their sketch-comedy series Upright Citizens Brigade on Comedy Central from 1998 to 2000. The cast consisted of Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh. It originally included a voice-over by Del Close. Nearly 10 years since its cancellation, the show continues to maintain a large following and is often hailed as one of the great cult sketch shows.

Most recently, Besser has been best known for hosting two podcasts - the Earwolf Challenge and Improv 4 Humans, an improv-based comedy podcast featuring a revolving cast of L.A. comedians, actors and improvisers.

Besser's first - and, to date, only - appearance on The Little Dum Dum Club was recorded in the Earwolf Studios while Tommy and Karl were in America. The show's 55th episode, it was posted on the 19th of October, 2011.
