Peter Helliar.

Peter Helliar
is an Australian comedian, actor, podcaster and writer. He is best-known for his work on television as Rove McManus' sidekick on The Loft Live from 1997 to 1998; and on Rove from 1999 to 2009. He has also appeared on Before the Game as his alter ego, Bryan Strauchan. Helliar initially worked the Melbourne stand-up comedy circuit in the mid nineties, performing in various venues and the annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

He has performed in numerous television commercials, most notably for Fernwood. He also wrote and starred in the 2010 film I Love You Too. He co-hosts a podcast with comedian Justin Hamilton entitled Heliar and Hammo Dig Flicks!, in which the two give a comedic look at the world of film. As a radio presenter and guest, Helliar has appeared on Triple J, Austereo, Fox FM, Nova and Triple M. His most recent project was the ABC series It's a Date, which he wrote and created.

Helliar has been a guest on The Little Dum Dum Club four times. His first appearance was on the show's seventeenth episode, which was published on February 15th, 2011. Almost a year later, Helliar returned alongside fellow Rove alumni Ryan Shelton for the show's 70th episode. The show was published on February 2nd, 2012. Helliar appeared in the show's 141st episode alongside Ben Lomas. His most recent appearance came as a part of a live show for the 2014 Melbourne International Comedy Festival; which also featured Bart Freebairn, Xavier Michelides and Ian Bagg. The episode saw Helliar "confront" Dassalo over his use of the name Dreamboat for his festival show; which was used by Helliar several years earlier. He also played himself in the show's episode of Rad Dad.
